OUR values

The value shop

We're killing each other again, and if i were to believe history books, we've never stopped, it's just that, i seem to have a survivor bias.
The state of the world today is deplorable and the sad part is, this sentence is so dull nobody can tell when it was written in the great history of the "Ascent of Man".

Adults are good at counting the dead, never knowing what for.
Seeing the history we're writing, I'm almost ashamed for looking at the ones that perished before sending out a word through the eyes of the few winners that did make it. What futures never saw the light, what presents i could have been living?
Are we all equal or are we the ones more equal than others?

It's that...as a proud citizen of the West, just a couple of months ago i knew i could tell my daughter don't worry, everything is going to be fine if she ever came to me with a complaint about the world... cause i knew all hurdles are overcome in the big scheme of things where there are values we share and uphold.
With the shitshow* happening right now i can no longer say that.
I don't understand how every single person fails to see that this might as well be him, his kids, his family. Anytime. Anywhere. How short-sighted can we be?

Empires rise and fall, the holocaust was an hour ago, we built the first cities on the blood of the enslaved a few hours ago...we started farming this very morning. On our (very) pale blue dot the wiser ones have always showed pessimism in the face of any alluring to progress on the level of human nature: we have no moral superiority in any way to the ones that sprayed their hands on prehistoric cave walls asking themselves why.

As slaves to Almighty, or as Gods, Logos is rolling in waves of black and white. And it's one thing to read and ponder, another thing to see it unfolding.
Not with sorrow, rather with revolt,
I refuse cruelty
I refuse to bend to a god made of precious stone
I refuse one day to say "because it's human nature"
To hell with humans of cruel nature
To hell with "living" not asking why
To hell with sheep leading sheep
To hell with those raised far and away from wonder and magic, from looking into each others' eyes…
To hell with the shallow, to hell with the fake
To hell with echo chambers reverberating words of virtue and tapping each other's back.
The world is rotting left and right, the stench is overwhelming: it's that of ancient blood-thirsty souls, so empty they can suck in a universe but not look in the mirror once, for fear of seeing, nothing.
Today those are the ones who replaced the God that Nietzsche rightly saw dying, with a golden crown. Perhaps there's a clue to why he called his messenger, the Madman.
